I Paint full time primarily in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel and compete in approximately 15 – 20 artist shows per year as well as my gallery commitments and commissions.
I owned and operated For Art’s Sake Gallery and Studio in Richmond, Va. for 43 years and taught 100-110 artists a week in mixed media, a gallery with rotating monthly shows, a fine art reproduction center and a custom framing facility.
Plein air instruction with workshops including, 1999 and 2002 (Art in Provence) in Duielifiet, France 2004 (Bally Vaughn)County Claire Ireland, 2006 Montapouchino, Italy, 2007 Kalymnos, Greece, 2009 October in Sonoma, California, and 2010 Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Conceptualized and established Colour Closet – an art center and working studio, offering instruction for 120 students a week from pre-school age to seniors. The center was also a complete art supply retail shop and custom framing facility. Included in the programs offered were seminars on color theory, portraits, summer camps, community projects, public exhibits, instruction in drawing and painting, ceramics, hand built and wheel thrown pottery.
Collaborated in the development and taught in “Project Ready”. A Richmond Public school program, for inner city at risk children ages 8-16. “Share the gift” program, elementary level, Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Taught independent drawing and painting at St. Christopher’s Elementary and middle school. Developed drawing programs for Extended Day program.
